In modern world, most of countries have established arbitration institutions and have their own dispute resolution mechanisms depending on their own cultural values. Since the Pound Conference, in 1976, the ADR has been diffused to many sectors of human life, coupled with the explosion of world trade volume during the latter part of 20th century. The Journal of Arbitration Studies(JAS), since 1992, has contributed to research areas of arbitration as well as other ADR mechanisms all over the world. The JAS is a peer-reviewed journal and publishes four issues per annum. The purpose of Journal of Arbitration Studies is to encourage the research of arbitration, mediation, and various dispute resolution mechanisms in and out of the court. The JAS is published by Korean Association of Arbitration Studies(KAAS) which has held the international conferences and policy forums in the area of arbitration and ADR in general, every year.
